Egy 91 évet élt és utolsó éveiben is aktív alkotó életművét nézhetjük-e a fiatalság bizonytalansága és tökéletlensége felől? Apró emléktárgyakat láthatunk-e időkapszuláknak, melyekből egyszer csak saját családunk és szomszédaink elfeledett történetei szólnak hozzánk?
Az MNM Balassa Bálint Múzeuma azonos című kiállításához készült kiadvány a fiatal André Kertész Esztergomban és környékén készített vintázskópiáiból nyújt válogatást.

Can we understand an artist on the basis of his early photographs and a few fragmentary entries from his diary? Can we arrive at a subtle grasp of the oeuvre of a man who lived to the age of 91 and who continued even in the late years of his life to experiment with photography by approaching it from the perspective of the uncertain and imperfect works of his youth? Can we regard these little souvenirs as time capsules from which long-forgotten stories of our own families and neighbours speak to us?
The volume, published on the occasion of the exhibition at the HNM Balassa Bálint Museum, presents a selection of the young André Kertész's vintage prints taken in and around Esztergom.
